CBD oil side effects

There is a growing trend in the usage of CBD oil around the world.

Cannabidiol (CBD oil) is finding its acceptance and benefits in managing depression, ADHD, cancer, migraines, Parkinson’s disease, anxiety, epilepsy, etc. According to the World Health Organisations, CBD in considered safe.

However, as with any suppelemt, side effects may occur when consuming CBD oil.

Cannabidiol or CBD oil is the second most common cannabinoid in cannabis. Having said that, it is noteworthy to mention that CBD has many properties that do not produce psychoactive symptoms. Production of CBD oil

CBD oil is distilled using a method that has been in practice since ancient times that was used for the distillation of liquids. The liquid mixture is obtained by immersing the flowers of cannabis in alcohol, in which all cannabinoids contained in the flower get released.

Nowadays, several studies are being conducted to demonstrate the effects of CBD oil and the conclusions are encouraging. Essentially, most reveal that cannabidiol is safe and has minor side effects.

The researchers found that following a prescribed dosage of cannabidiol is safe and non-toxic to humans and animals. Also, there need not be any changes in food intake. According to these studies, high doses up to 1,500 mg per day are well tolerated in humans.

However, as with any remedy, side effects and interactions may occur when adopting CBD. Some of the most common side effects can be summarized as below:

Low blood pressure

The higher dose of cannabidiol could result in a small drop in blood pressure. If you are taking medication for blood pressure, consult your doctor before taking cannabidiol.

Drowsiness

There is no proven evidence that confirms the possibility of drowsiness while using CBD. However, as a rare case, If one experiences such a condition, it is recommended to avoid work that requires mental-physical coordination.

Dry mouth

Another side effect of the CBD oil is the uncomfortable dry feeling in the mouth (also called “cottonmouth”). Such an effect appears to be caused by the endocannabinoid system in inhibiting salivary secretion. Except for thirst, this side effect will not cause any further inconvenience.

Changes in appetite

Some studies report changes in appetite when treated with CBD.
These studies show that at times with the possibility of high-CBD marijuana strain, it slightly changed people’s appetite. But there were major changes in appetite among people who used a strain that was high in THC.

Dizziness

Dizziness is generally caused by a drop in blood pressure. But a higher dosage of CBD can lead to dizziness. This side effect is temporary and can often be resolved by drinking a cup of coffee or tea.

Digestive issue

CBD can affect the digestive tract related diseases, diarrhea, or pancreatitis. To rule out harmful side effects, it is better to consult a doctor. If problems with the gastrointestinal tract have already occurred, the risk of negative consequences from the use of CBD oil is greatly increased.

Despite the side effects, it is clear that CBD oil can be very helpful. Of course, we still have a lot to learn about this modern adaptation of an ancient medicine Henceforth, there is a wide scope for research on how best to use CBD and its potential benefits in treating diseases.
